About the AATCVM

Mission Statement:

The mission of AATCVM is to:

  • Support TCVM practitioners world-wide by providing:

    • Assistance with study design
    • Assistance with manuscript preparation and scientific writing skills

The American Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (AATCVM) is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 to support practitioners of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and promote high quality research in all aspects of TCVM including: acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tui-na and Food therapy. The AATCVM promotes the practice of evidence-based Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) by funding high quality studies of the basic science and mechanisms of action of TCVM treatments and randomized clinical trials of the efficacy of TCVM treatments.

To further support its mission to promote continuing education of TCVM practitioners and evidence-based TCVM, the AATCVM publishes an international, peer reviewed, scientific journal, the American Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (AJTCVM).  The AJTCVM is a venue for the dissemination of information regarding research findings, continuing education for TCVM practitioners, issues of interest to the TCVM community and TCVM news.

Membership Fees

Membership fees for AATCVM are $65 or $85 depending on whether the veterinarian resides in the USA or outside the USA. Membership fees for the WATCVM are $85 or $105 depending on whether the veterinarian resides in the USA or outside the USA. Membership fees for non-veterinarian journal only access is $50 per year. Payment can be made electronically using PayPal (a safe, secure payment processor that can be used to pay through a credit card or bank account, even if you do not have a PayPal account). Please make sure that the PayPal account is in your name not a family member or other business entity. You will get a confirmation email from PayPal after the payment being processed and your bank statement will also show that you have paid. Please allow at least 1~2 business days for your membership to be activated after your payment is received, for our administrator to review your valid veterinarian status. Research Fund

Donations to the American Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (AATCVM) ensure grant support for those individuals interested in research in all aspects of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM). In this way individuals and organizations can promote TCVM research and help contribute to the accumulation of scientific evidence to support these treatments to reduce disease and enrich the lives of animals. The AATCVM is a non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. Donations to the AATCVM Research Fund may be made through Dr. Suzy Brannan, Secretary and Treasurer of the AATCVM.
